Tomei SR20DET Solid Pivot

In order to make cam clearance maintenance-free, and achieve operation sound reduction, hydraulic lash adjuster is adopted to Nissan SR20 engine. However, when aiming at high rotation and high output by engine modification, it is important to improve the reliability of the head parts and making valves drive correctly as the cam profile. Therefore; it is necessary to eliminate the function of lash adjuster.

Tomei adopt solid pivot system to enable cam clearance adjustment. While keeping total height of pivot of each cylinder fixed, thereby, it is possible to build much precise head system in precise time compare to the hydraulic lash systems. Moreover, improvement in reliability were realized same time by having reduced the number of moving parts (lash adjusters).

* One has to measure and order the correct size of shims and rocker guides accordingly when installing Tomei solid pivot. Recommended cold valve clearance is 0.15mm (+/-0.01mm).
