Stage 3.5 Slight Change of Plan
Product Information
Our original project KA24DE was sold to a co-worker, he was in need of a daily driver so we were nice enough to sell him the whole car for a good price. Since then our project has been stalling until we came across a clean condition 1992 S13 Coupe with 180k miles. So the saga continues...
To catch up with the original mods on the first project car, within the first months after getting the car we reinstalled the following mods:
Injen cold air intake
Aluminum drive shaft
TEIN Flex coilover with EDFC
Nismo solid shifter
Cusco Front and Rear OS strut bars
Inner Circle ECU rom tuning
Nology ignition hot wires
5 Zigen Border III 2.50" catback
Sun Hyperground kit
Fuel filter, oil and plug change
Cap and Rotor change
New O2 Sensor
Catco 3" Highflow Cat
Nismo Transmission mount swap
Pressure wash engine bay
Removal of dead mouse on a/c compressor (50+hp)
End results:
WOW, quite frankly speaking our 2nd project KA24DE felt even better than the first one. Granted this 2nd car had more mods than the first one, the throttle response and mid to high range power is pretty impressive. We took the plunge and drove the car for Speedtrial, and it did quite well hanging with some of the better cars (i.e Porsche boxters).
Pictures coming up shortly, next planned mods will be light weight ASP crank pulley, hotshot header, 3" Catco high flow cat and ACT clutch with Fidanza flywheel. Whichever comes first. After this round we should be pretty darn near 200 motor HP which was the power goal we are seeking out of this car, currenly the balance of power is very enjoyable and the sluggishness often associated with the KA motor is non existent. At this stage the car is very enjoyable and fun to drive around town AND on the road racing track. When we finish the last round of mods, we will attempt to even try to take it for some drift session, after we install the LSD ofcourse.
