Since the KA has high miles, we believe the motor should have some carbon buildup inside. Enable to get rid of the carbon buildup, we dis-engaged the vacuum line at the rear part of the intake manifold and had the motor ingested close to half quart of ATF at idle (pinch the vacuum hose to suck the ATF into the engine slowly with 5 second interval in between). The car will smoke HEAVILY white for 40-60 minutes, so make sure you are doing this at places that won't think you are a gross polluter or neighbors thinking your house is on fire. We revved the motor consistentent from 2000rpm, to 3000 rpm, to 3500rpm slowly on and off to expedite the burning process of the ATF. Please make sure you leave the old plugs in there to do this before you swap in new plugs. After the car is not smoking white anymore, one can proceed to change new oil and put in new plugs. At your first tank of gas fillup, add in a bottle of Redline fuel system cleaner to supplement the ATF cleaning.
* Next stage will be ignition buildup which will involve Magnecor KV85 wires, ignition cap/rotor head change, along with Sun Hyperground wire set and MSD coil and 6A amplifier upgrade.
