Product Information

At this stage we removed the Skunk 2 5/8" plenum spacer kit and replaced with the popular Motordyne 5/16" spacer. The motordyne 5/16" is half the size of the Skunk 2 unit (which we prefer to be used for forced induction 350Z's), but for normally aspirated applications we suspect some torque lost due to the spacer being too thick.

Preliminary butt feel with the 5/16" Motordyne spacer over the Skunk 2 5/8":

  • Overall, "seemingly" better low end torque through out the entire rpm

  • The exhaust tone changed when the car is revved, we don't know how to explain the difference but the car sounded different.

The install of the 5/16" Motordyne spacer is a pure straight forward process. We like the threaded inner plenum bushing spacer over the Skunk 2 unit because it makes install alot easier without fearing the bushing fall out of their place when you try to put back the plenum cover. We can also remove the spacers we added to the Circuit Sports dry carbon front strut bar since the bar now fits over the 5/16" plenum spacer without any issues and still plenty of room left to spare!
